September Membership Meeting Notes

MEMBERSHIP MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 26, 2017

The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. About thirty people attended.

Secretary Carolyn Lageson highlighted Minutes of the September 13th Board Meeting.

President Diane Jacobson McGee reported our membership has grown to 145 members. She also reminded us that dues of $15 could be mailed by check to our address: 4915 42 Avenue North, Robbinsdate MN 55422.

Robbinsdale City has our mailing list updated and will be ready for distribution soon.

THANK YOUS: Today’s treats are provided by Doug Blumb. (Diane also said we need volunteers for our October and November meetings and a sign-up sheet was available for this.) Thanks also to Corrine Jones for serving treats and to Dode Dougherty at the sign in table.

Our meeting was held in the Museum due to the Gallery’s art show’s need to not be disturbed.

We are looking for space to temporarily store the large letters from the top of the Terrace Theater tower. Our storage closet cannot hold them. We can also use help sorting and cleaning our closet.

Before our speaker was introduced Diane announced our October 24th meeting will have a very special speaker. Susi Adler has done extensive research on Amy Robbins, an amazing woman and daughter of the founding father of Robbinsdale.

Our September Membership Meeting special speaker was Tom Sipe. Tom is a longtime business owner in Robbinsdale and former Robbinsdale Fire Department member and Chief. He reminded us of the importance of history and gave many examples of the “specialness” of Robbinsdale.

Rollie said it was the best meeting ever!

Membership meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of the months March, April, May, September,October and November. We meet at 1:00 p.m. in the old Robbinsdale Library at 4915 42nd Avenue North.
